
The Community Restroom Access Project
Public restrooms can be a source of stress and anxiety for transgender and gender nonconforming people. CRAP is a group of concerned Chicagoans working for new solutions to provide accessible restrooms for all.
Founded in 2015 as a working group of Pride Action Tank (a project of the AIDS Foundation Chicago), CRAP includes individual members representing academia, public policy, public schools, and the legal field, as well as organizations such as AIDS Foundation Chicago and Equality Illinois.

CRAP Video Stories:
In Illinois, single-occupancy restrooms in all public buildings and businesses must be designated as gender neutral or all-gender. The law took effect on January 1, 2020. (Download pdf palm card to share with businesses)
