In the few weeks since the inauguration of Donald Trump as the 47th president, we've already seen a barrage of policy shifts and executive orders that directly and adversely impact our communities. Rest assured, AIDS Foundation Chicago and our partners at Equality Illinois, Human Rights Campaign Chicago, and Pride Action Tank have anticipated these actions and are working diligently with the Illinois Congressional Delegation to ensure the rights of our community members are upheld and protected.
The purpose of this virtual meeting was to hold space for honest dialogue between Members of Congress from the Illinois delegation and their constituents about how we can support each other and hold the Trump administration and the 119th Congress accountable. Watch the video here.
On Wednesday, August 7 from 8:30-10:00 a.m. CD, PAT hosted our eighth annual Congressional Breakfast with our co-host AIDS Foundation Chicago and our event partners Equality Illinois, AARP Illinois, and Human Rights Campaign.
Our annual breakfast is designed to open dialogue between you and your elected representatives about the unique challenges and needs of LGBT+ people and people living with HIV. It will serve as a forum for you and your fellow constituents to directly engage in conversation with federal lawmakers about the issues that matter most to you. You can watch the event here
