Disarm Gun Violence
Over 120 people attended last Thursday’s Disarm Gun Violence LGBTQ Town Hall at Ebenezer Lutheran Church. The event included panel discussions with advocates from the gun violence prevention and LGBTQ movements. There were also several individuals who shared their personal stories after loved ones were killed by guns.
Follow up from the town hall will include educational workshops in other parts of Chicago and opportunities to participate in advocacy efforts.
The town hall was organized by Chicago Survivors, Pride Action Tank, and Windy City Times. Members of the Illinois Gun Violence Prevention Coalition and local and national LGBTQ and other organizations served as partners.
